Our Sonogram!

Yes, we have been busy these past 3 or 4 months! Welcome to our Blog. We always wanted more children and Sean has asked for a baby sister in his prayers every night for the past 4 years! One night Sean's faith was tested and he told me he didn't think God was real because He wasn't answering his prayers for a baby sister. I explained that God hears every single one of our prayers but sometimes He has different plans for us. We just don't always know what God's plans are. Without missing a beat, Sean prayed, "Well, then, Dear God, Please change your plans, Amen." It took us a few more years to realize that maybe God wanted US to change OUR plans....

After tossing the idea around several times over the years, we finally made the decision to adopt in late September/early October. The next couple of weeks we spent researching adoption....domestic or international? What country? What agency? Everything seemed to lead us to the China program. I was able to speak to someone (Beth) who had used CCAI, an agency we were considering. She convinced us! Beth was also able to give us a great lead on a SW. We sent in our application and were approved on October 21, 2006. Ever since then we have been pedal to the medal chasing paper, getting things notarized (locally), certified (by the appropriate Secretary of State), and then authenticated (by the appropriate Chinese Consulate). We had to get local police reports, fingerprinted and checked by the FBI, and fill out GOBS of questions! We are finally at the end of the chase! Our paperwork is ALMOST ready to go to our agency where it will be translated and then sent to China. Then the REALLY long wait begins! We are hoping (optimistic) to receive our referral in about 18 months with travel 6-8 weeks after that. Please pray that the continually growing wait will somehow shorten and we will be able to bring our baby home soon!

This blog is just our journal of the process. We invite you to check in and follow along with us on our journey to our baby (-ies!). Yes, we have requested twin girls although twins are rare. God has been so in control of this process so far. We have no doubt that this is what He wanted of us all along! This blog has the most recent entry on top, but if you want to go back and read the previous entries, go to the archives on the lower right hand side. If you would like to leave a comment, click on "Comments" at the bottom of each entry.

Thank you for reading.....Please keep our baby (and us) in your prayers. Pray that we will become a family as quickly as possible!
