We had a wonderful Easter and Spring Break. We stayed home and went to movies, played games, spent lots of time outside, and just hung out as a family.
On Saturday night R. said something about tomorrow being Easter. Sean got all excited and asked if that meant the "Easter Egg Bunny" was coming. We told him he would come after we were all asleep. The next morning, when Sean woke up, he asked, "Did the Easter Egg Bunny come? Did he bring me a nest?" It cracked us up! I guess we don't spend much time talking about the Easter Bunny! He sure knows the story of Easter though......
We did the resurection eggs that morning and I was amazed at how much of the Easter story Sean really knew. That afternoon, after church, when we were eating lunch, Sean obviously thought we needed to do communion! He took a roll out of the bread basket and said, "This is to remember the body of Christ. Take a little bite and pass it." We did. Then he picked up his milk and said, "This is to remember the blood of Christ." It was funny, but he was really passionate about it. They hadn't offered communion at church and he thought it was important for us to remember Jesus and what He did for us on the first Easter.
Also, at the end of church, the pastor always invites people to come forward to the altar if they are ready to accept Christ as their Savior or if they just have a problem that they want prayed over. Sean immediately stood up and told R. that he wanted to go forward and ask for a prayer about a boy at school that has been bullying him. He went up all by himself, in a huge mega church, waited in line and went to a couple and told them his problem. They prayed with him and he felt much better. We were so proud! How can he be so big?
